Product Description
The No.09 Stainless Steel - Premium Wood Edition Folding knife is perfect for larger tasks. You can fold it up and stow it in a toolbox, or in your backpack while camping. Its large profile makes it great for bushcraft, large wood carving, and longer cuts. The blade has been designed to maximize cutting quality and makes it easy to sharpen after years of hard work. You can use it in the garden, at the dinner table, or even on your next adventure. Keep the knife in your pocket, purse, or toolbox and we are certain you'll love it for years to come!
Both smart and simple, the Opinel folding knife has 5 elements: the blade, the wooden handle, the fixed ferrule, the rivet, and the rotating VIROBLOC locking ring. The knife is equipped with a 3.51-inch blade and an open length of 8.18 inches.
All Opinel wooden-handle knives are not designed to be washed in the dishwasher. Heat and moisture will cause any wood to swell which will make the knife hard to open at times. Opinel suggests carefully hand-washing your knives and leaving them out to air dry. The Sandvik 12C27 Mod. Stainless Steel used for the blades is low maintenance, meaning it is highly resistant to rust and can be polished or cared for with simple organic oils.
Joseph Opinel designed his first pocket knife in 1890, creating a tool that is as robust and functional as it is simple and beautiful. Opinel knives continue to be made in the Savoie region of France. Each year, their team of 150 employees in France manufactures over 5 million knives, ranging from outdoor tools to kitchen knives, all to honor Joseph Opinel’s focus on quality and simplicity.
The Opinel No.09 folding knife is a generously sized pocket knife with a 3.54-inch blade. The oak wood handle provides a comfortable grip and is treated for optimum protection against moisture and dirt. The knife's modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. The Virobloc safety ring equips the close-fitting pocket knives from the No.06 to No.12, allowing for locking of the blade in both open and closed positions.
Opinel also offers the No.09 folding knife in olive wood, walnut wood, and beech wood options.
In 1890, in a small village of Maurienne in Savoy, Joseph Opinel invented the pocket knife that carries his name today. OPINEL is always run by its descendants and has been producing products that have been reputation for the brand for nearly 130 years.
