Walnut from French farms is a dark and brown wood and often grained. It is painted for optimum protection against moisture and dirt.

Sharp and easy care stainless steel blade: The No. 09 knife has a modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade developed specifically for Opinel. It is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. The chrome content of at least 0.40% increases the resistance of the Opinel knife to corrosion.

Timeless design, unique know-how: The Virobloc safety ring, invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, equips our close-fitting pocket knives from the No.06 to No.12.
