Opinel Trekking Series Stainless Steel Pocket Knife with Leather Strap, Beech Wood Handles

The No7 knife is the perfect size for those who feel that the No6 could be a little larger. It is classified as the "In-between" size, neither small nor big. Opinel Knives have been made in France since 1890, with the company manufacturing its knives in the French Alps. The plant in Chambray, France covers nearly 60,000 square feet and employs 110 people, with 60 working directly in production. All products, including traditional pocket-knives, specialist pocket-knives, garden tools, and elegant table knives, are entirely manufactured in the Chambray factory. The molds and cutting tools are developed by Opinel, and the wooden handles are made in Chambray, with assembly and sharpening taking place in Portugal.

Opinel Knives are traditionally sold without retail packaging to promote sustainability, with minimal packaging in clear plastic zip bags fitted to the size of the knife. The No7 knife features the Virobloc safety rings, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955 and fitted to folding knives sizes No6 through No12. The Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding, allowing for the blade to be locked open for safety while in use, and closed for safety on the go.

The stainless steel blade of the No7 knife is highly resistant and easy to clean with warm water, dishwashing liquid, and a sponge. Opinel knives are designed for strength and resistance, from woodwork to steelwork and new materials like top-of-the-range synthetic polymers, and are meant to last a lifetime and even be passed down from generation to generation.
