Opinel Pruning Knife

The Opinel knife with Virobloc Safety rings, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, features a stainless steel blade and is available in sizes No6 through No12. The Virobloc safety ring has two sections, one fixed and one sliding, allowing the blade to be locked open for safety during use, as well as closed for safety on the go.

The Opinel no8 pruning knife is equipped with a curved blade beveled on both sides, making it the perfect tool for tasks such as grape-picking, shrub pruning, and cutting ties. The 12C27 modified stainless steel blade is highly resistant to corrosion due to the addition of chrome, and requires minimal maintenance. The carbon content of at least 0.40% provides an exceptional cutting edge.

The handle of the Opinel knife is made from hard, durable, and easy to work beechwood, which is the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. From France, the beechwood handle adds a touch of elegance to the knife.

The classic Opinel blade has adopted a Yatagan shape, inspired by the traditional Turkish saber, the toe up. This shape gives the knife a unique and stylish appearance, while maintaining its functionality.

Furthermore, the stainless steel blade is easy to clean and can be maintained with just a sponge, warm water, and dish-washing liquid. This makes the Opinel knife convenient and practical for everyday use.
